Happiness in
pursuit of life
A personal blog where I mostly reblog things I like, often related to Harry Potter, Narnia, The Hunger Games, The Lizzie Bennet Diaries and Pride and Prejudice. I have a separate blog for Huan Zhu Ge Ge-related stuff. See link in the Links page.

Day 17: A book you want to like, but can’t get into for whatever reason. Why can’t you get into it?
Emma by Jane Austen. I swear I have no idea why I can’t get into this book, but I have never been able to read more than 10 pages in a row. Maybe it’s just because Emma annoys me.

Day 16: A book you haven’t read and have no intention of ever reading.
Fifty Shades of Grey by E. L. James
Though I am following some blogs snarking it and that’s probably all I need to read. There was an excerpt that pretty much traumatised me against this author from now until probably eternity.

Day 14: A book you regret not having read sooner.

Anne of Green Gables by L. M. Montgomery. How it is that I managed to go through 23 years of my life and not read this series, I don’t know.

Anything by Roald Dahl but most particularly Matilda.
Then there is, you know, the usual Baby Sitter’s Club and Sweet Valley Kids/Teens…

Day 11: Name three absolutely awful film adaptations of books.

  1. P.S. I Love You (one of the most boring movies…ever.)
  2. A Wrinkle in Time (my god, this was painful to watch)
  3. The Voyage of Dawn Treader (Ok, so Will Poulter was god-send, but I will never forgive the character assassination of Edmund. I guess part of the reason why this movie is here is because I just had all these expectation and none of it was lived up to, except Will Poulter’s Eustace.)

Sometimes, you read a book and it fills you with this weird evangelical zeal, and you become convinced that the shattered world will never be put back together unless and until all living humans read the book.
